Our Credentials

There’s no substitute for experience:

Roadrunners’ biggest asset is our coaching staff. Our coaches have played competitive, collegiate, and on US National teams. Having an in-depth knowledge of the game is more attainable when you have the experience of having played. Among them are Team Captains, All-Conference and All-Academic players, State, Regional and National Champions, US National team players, Olympic Development players, but they are also teachers, volunteers, leaders, and role-models. (Click here to read more about our coaches and why they coach)

All of our coaches hold a National license (A-E) and are continually learning through courses held each year around the country and overseas. These credentials speak to our staff’s commitment to professional development. Roadrunners always has a licensed professional staff coach at every game. Additionally, Roadrunners coaching standards have met all of the criteria to be one of only 3 clubs in Illinois to achieve PlayerFirst status. We are happy to be leading the way.

Established:

The benefits of being part of a long-standing club are immense. Since 1980, Roadrunners SC has served the soccer community. As one of suburban Chicago’s long standing and successful youth soccer clubs, we provide a year-long program of play, tournaments, and training. Our structure, operations, leadership, and programming are established and have passed the test of time. As a result of the relationships we have established, we have full access to the award-winning parks in Downers Grove. All of our practices and home games are played here and  we provide our players with consistent weekly schedules, lighted fields and alternative practice locations on rainy days when grass fields are closed.

Levels of Play:

Too often families are asked to conform to the Soccer Club instead of the Soccer Club making sure they work for the families.  Roadrunners SC offers programs for all players whether you do one season or three, and whether you are a beginner or highly-skilled.

We offer Roadrunner U programs for U4-U6 ages and programs for U7 through U23 teams, with most having multiple teams of different abilities in each age group.

Select and Premier Programs are offered for those players that desire more trainings and want to accelerate their development. Players have the opportunity to advance within the seasonal year to a higher level team and our open training policy allows options for players if they can’t make a training or if they want to do extra. We also offer futsal, skills, and goalkeeper training.
