Our Values and Mission Statement

Roadrunners Soccer Club aspires to provide a professional, safe training environment, focused on the long term development of players, where players can strive to their full potential and foster their passion for soccer.  Creating the right environment to meet these goals means everything to us.

Mission, Vision and Values

We provide a professional environment where players can strive to their full potential and foster their passion for the sport.

Our vision is to develop players’ love for the game and respect for their teammates, opponents & referees. Our goal is to service our players at their ability levels and strive to prepare players to play at the next level by increasing their own expectations.

We aspire to be the model soccer club in the greater Chicago area, respected by players, families and our soccer community for the environment we create and our approach to developing players.

Support for Roadrunner Soccer:  The Club's Board members, comprised of its Officers and Directors, Team Coaches, and Team Managers, support and administer its financial and operating policies.  By doing so, each Board member will refrain from taking actions that damage the reputation and viability of Roadrunner Soccer. Members that project a negative image of RRSC will be asked to step down from their role.

Risk Management:  Roadrunner Soccer will conform to Downers Grove Park District and league requirements to have background checks performed for all coaches that work with players.  Other risk management practices of the club include goal safety, adverse weather, safe coaching techniques, behavioral standards and team travel arrangements.

Team Structure:  The outline of our Program Structure serves to help the Club and Team's communication needs. Click here.  All technical questions regarding player development should be addressed to the staff coach.  All questions regarding the administration of the team or club should be addressed to the team manager.

Extra Tournament/Events: Teams may desire to participate in extra tournaments or special events that are beyond the Club’s standard.  In all cases, extra events should be consistent with training objectives and coordinated between the Staff Coach, Team Coach and Team Manager.  All costs for the extra event, including but not limited to, application costs, parking fees, coaching expenses will be considered a direct team expense and participating families will be billed as a shared cost.

Playing Time:  It’s important that players’ play and that we work to find opportunities for all players on the field.  However, playing time is not guaranteed and will be determined by a variety of criteria including, but not limited to training habits, attendance, and match situations.  Generally, as a player matures, his or her playing time will begin to be determined more and more by ability.

Volunteerism – Your Time and Talent:  Roadrunner Soccer performs at its best as a result of the combined efforts of all of our professional coaching staff and parent volunteers. As a result, our Club includes an expectation that all families will volunteer up to 5 hours each soccer year (August through July) to assist with Club operations.  Families can “opt out” of this volunteer requirement for a fee of $75 so the Club can retain paid help where needed.  Families that do not attempt to fulfill this expectation by April 30 will be acknowledged as having opted out and will be sent an invoice from the Club for the $75 opt out fee.

Release Policy:  Player releases will only be given if all outstanding player fees are paid in full.  Releases will be processed in a timely fashion and in accordance with league rules.

Refund Policy:  Fees are due in full based on the program of services selected at the time a player registers.
As a convenience to families, the club offers payment plans. No refunds will be given at any time as the club commits staff and resources based on the services selected by families. This policy shall be strictly enforced.
Only If a player suffers a season ending injury during a soccer event, partial refunds will be considered.

Fees are Estimates for Actual Services:  As estimates of actual team expenses, these fees are subject to change based on the level of services provided.  For example, Select level teams may arrange for specialty training, or regional tournaments that are above and beyond the Club’s standard.  In these cases, the Team Manager will advise participating families of the additional fees due and collect fees and make payments directly.
