Holiday ideas for giving back

Please consider donating to one of these worthy causes this holiday

Roadrunners is very proud of the generosity our families have shown every holiday season.

DG58 Holiday Gift Giving

For the last few years, Roadrunners has proudly working in conjunction with DG58 to help put smiles on children's faces at Christmas.

Holiday Giving

We are about to embark on our 10th annual giving program in affiliation with families and/or children in need with DG58. This program has grown in scope over the past two years. We are trying to get ahead of the curve this year and are going to providing a generic sign-up by age and gender for now as well as specific wish lists we receive will be added by around Thanksgiving. If you think your business or employees would like to partner with us, please let us know.

PLEASE CONSIDER SIGNING UP TO BUY GIFTS FOR A CHILD IN NEED:

You can sign up and buy age appropriate gifts according to age and gender, or add your name to the sign up and we will contact you and/or match you up for a specific child -(we will be adding specific children's wish lists by Thanksgiving). Our goal is to provide 2-3 gifts per child and/or family. For the non-shoppers, gift cards are always appreciated ($20 is a good amount)-usually used to buy winter clothing.

Carl Turk will be coordinating the efforts on Roadrunners behalf. We will send specific information on where to drop the gifts off in Downers Grove to those who sign up.

There will be need to help sort and bag gifts on or around mid-December. We will also need a couple of volunteers to assist in delivering items to area elementary schools before break.

Please help bring care, comfort and compassion to cancer patients that are undergoing chemotherapy.  Last year, through generous donations, to date we were able to provide 1200 blankets to patients at many different facilities.

Donations can be Completed Fleece BlanketsFleece Material (two 1 ¾ yard pieces for each blanket), or JoAnn Fabric Gift Cards that can be purchased through Amazon or JoAnn.com and sent electronically to c3forcancer@gmail.com.

Blankets, fleece or plastic gift cards can be dropped off at 4803 Highland Ave on the front porch in the marked bin starting NOV 10th.

Our annual drive has begun, and we ask that donations be received between Nov 10th and Dec 18th.

Annual deliveries to the patients begin the week of Thanksgiving.
