Programs Offered

Roadrunner University

This is offered for our youngest players from U5 to U7. RRU is a way to start players out early in learning the basic footskills and soccer knowledge and to get them used to being part of a proper training session. 

RRU Training Location: Seven Bridges Turf address: 6690 IL-53, Woodridge, IL 60517

  • Group #1 Practices Saturdays 1:00-2:00pm and Sundays 3:30-4:30pm
  • Group #2 Practices Saturdays only from 2:00-3:00pm (use code SATURDAYRRU at checkout for $70 off)
  • Professionally coached
  • Cost is only $140 per season
  • Fall Season: Aug 5 - late Oct
  • Winter Season: Jan 6-Mar 28 
  • Spring April 6-early June

Roadrunner U players get one free training shirt at the start of their first season. Purchasing a uniform is not needed for RRU.

Classic Teams

This program is offered to ages U7-U19.  Perfect for young or new players to gain club experience or for older players to gain club experience or allows players to do other sports.

Training:

  • 2 training days per week
  • 8 league games per season played against other clubs within 45 minutes of Downers Grove
  • 1-2 tournaments per season, winter soccer/futsal training; winter league play
  • U7-U8 may register by season, Fall, Winter, and/or Spring
  • U9-U19 must commit to/participate in Fall & Spring
  • Goalkeepers in Classic teams train 1-2 times per week 

Select Teams

Offered to U09-U19, for those with a larger appetite for soccer and higher skill level. Offered to both Boys and Girls

Training:

  • 3 training days per week
  • 8+ league games per season played against other clubs within 45 minutes of Downers Grove
  • 2+ tournaments per season, winter soccer/futsal training; winter league play
  • Non-Highschool players must play/sign up for all three seasons (Fall, Winter, Spring)
  • Girl Highschool players must play/sign up for Fall & Winter
  • Boy High school players must participate in Winter & Spring
  • Goalkeepers in Select teams train 1-2 times per week 

Why so many programs?

The reason why our club offers these different programs is because we have different players and families with different ‘appetites’. As is true in any learning/teaching institution, a truly progressive organization must be able to tailor their offerings to accommodate varying levels of commitment, desires and ability.

What you might not know is that these offers are NOT exclusively based on ability, but as importantly, on level of commitment and desire as ability is not enough. It is a combination of all three of these traits that will ultimately impact long term development.

These different programs are meant to be ‘fluid’ so that at any point that a player is ready to move, that this can occur without delay, when possible. As we know, people’s habits and passions change and our programs must be able to adapt and mold as needed.

Lastly, another product of our different programs is what a player may desire to do with our sport. While all players want to have a positive experience and meet new friends, others have a desire to have a good high school soccer playing experience. Still others desire to go on to play collegiately. And for some, to play beyond college in a professional environment. It is our duty, as a club, to provide an environment that will enable all of our players to compete at the level that they can attain to and in most cases, challenge them to aim even higher than they had hoped to attain to.
