Joe Allen

Joe grew up in England and has been a goalkeeper for over 30 years. He began his career at the age of 11 in English schools and recreational leagues before being selected for Bristol City FC Professional Academy at the age of 12. At 15, Joe was selected by the English Football Association Program for Excellence and participated in the goalkeeper program for two years. At the age of 16, Joe was chosen by the English Premier League’s Southampton FC as part of their Academy program. Joe was also selected to play for the Southwest Region of England Schools representative team at the ages of 14 and 16.

Unfortunately, a knee injury forced him to abandon his professional playing career at 18 years old. Hanging up his soccer boots, he then decided to join the police academy and become a police officer with the Metropolitan Police of New Scotland Yard in London. Joe immigrated to the United States in 2013.

Joe has continued to play as a goalkeeper throughout his adult life in England and the US and played for the Metropolitan Police team in London during his time as an officer. Joe currently plays in various recreational outdoor and indoor leagues in Naperville.

Coach Joe also runs 3 Lions Goalkeeper Academy in Naperville where he focuses on private and small group GK training.
